In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Chinese American Golden Age Association proudly hosted its 2026 Chinese New Year Gala on February 11th, bringing together residents for an evening of cultural celebration, community connection, and shared joy. A total of 103 residents attended the event, marking the highest participation in the past five years and reflecting the strong sense of engagement and belonging within the community.
The evening was filled with warmth, laughter, and festive energy, as residents and guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated program designed to encourage participation and interaction. Among all performances, the traditional Sichuan Opera face-changing show and the lion and dragon dance were the most enthusiastically received. These performances stood out for their high level of audience interaction, as performers engaged directly with residents throughout the venue. Many residents actively participated, applauded, and joined in the excitement, creating a lively and immersive atmosphere that truly embodied the spirit of the New Year celebration.
In addition to the cultural performances, the event was highlighted by meaningful gestures of generosity and support. Alongside the carefully prepared New Year gifts from the Golden Age Village Office, the President of Chinese American Golden Age Association, Dr. Iris Chi, generously donated ten $100 gift cards, adding a special sense of appreciation and festivity for residents. Furthermore, Brandon, representing Cathay Bank, contributed two $100 cash red envelopes. These generous donations elevated the raffle segment of the evening and brought the celebration to its emotional and energetic peak, filling the room with excitement, applause, and heartfelt smiles.
