Overview
In 1976, Dr. Frances Wu established the Chinese American Golden Age Association (CAGAA). The mission of CAGAA is to provide affordable housing for seniors and develop a culturally comprehensive program designed to meet their physical, social, language and psychological needs. We aim to promote the health, social welfare, safety, happiness and independence of our residents in their golden years.
In 1980, the Golden Age Village was established, and is administered and governed by the Board of Directors of CAGAA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The property was developed with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 8 202, a low-income senior housing program. There are a total of 120 rental units, and about 150 seniors.
