This year, our birthday celebration was dedicated to International Women’s Day—and to every woman in the room. There were no elaborate arrangements or formal agenda. Instead, roses were gently handed out one by one, and stories were truly heard. During the event, we invited residents to reflect on a simple question: Who is the most important woman in your life?
Some spoke of their mothers—the years of hard work, the quiet sacrifices, and the love rarely put into words—until their voices softened with emotion. Others spoke of their wives, describing the everyday acts of care—cooking, tending to the family—that may seem ordinary, yet form the steady foundation of their lives. Some shared stories about their daughters, recalling the days of holding their small hands and now watching them grow, filled with pride, love, and words left unspoken.
In those moments, the room grew quiet, yet the emotions within it deepened—subtle, powerful, and shared. What we offered was simple: a single rose for each woman present.
