The Golden Age Village (GAV) is an independent-living affordable senior housing community, established by Dr. Frances Wu in 1979 with the goal of creating a safe and affordable living environment for low-income seniors. The property was developed with funding through the HUD Section 202 program which provides funding for seniors who are 62 years or older.

The GAV has 120 units and is the home for about 150 seniors. To enhance the residents’ quality of life, the property provides management services, monthly birthday parties, karaoke club, computer classes and Physical Education classes. The GAV also has a gym, a library, and a multi-purpose room.

The residents at GAV are mostly first-generation immigrants from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The goal of computer class is to reduce social isolation, and increase life skills through technology skills training.

The computer tutor volunteers must be fluent in English, Mandarin, and/or Cantonese.
